We’re delighted to announce that award-winning, eco-friendly packaging manufacturers Vegware have adopted a stretch of The Union Canal in Edinburgh, and what’s more are now sponsors of our Edinburgh Schools Canal Education Programme!
This week we joined Vegware as they relaunched their Community Fund at Harrison Park to celebrate. It was a fun-packed, family-friendly day with a wild food walk, face painting and the Re-Union Canal boat docked on The Union Canal. The Vegware Community Fund is fantastic; it supports sustainability AND donates and supports charitable organisations. We’re into that!
We invited Primary 5 from Tollcross Primary school along. Tollcross Primary School have been canal adopters for a few years now, taking part in lots of fun, educational activities along the canal with Anna Canning. The class worked towards their John Muir Award this year, and were presented with their with their award certificates by Vegware’s Managing Director Joe Frankel. Well done everyone!
Mr Frankel also signed Vegware’s Canal Adoption agreement on the day. Amazing! We can’t wait to see what the team get up to out on the canal.
