Canal School

Whether we’re capturing and celebrating the many incredible stories the communities of Glasgow tell of the historic Forth & Clyde Canal, helping students achieve their John Muir Award by exploring the waterways, or teaching kids about the elegant design behind the world’s only rotating boat lift in The Falkirk Wheel’s water play park, our projects encourage the people of Scotland, to learn about, protect and care for the environments and amazing built and natural heritage of the waterways. Today, 4 in 5 children don’t have a ‘connection with nature’ and miss out on the physical, mental health and social development benefits that it brings. In 2013, we inspired 1,300 school children to work towards the John Muir Discovery Award, exploring and connecting with their local environment.
